Derby Summer Concert Series A Major
Success

The Derby Cultural Commission had another very successful
summer concert series on the historic Derby Green in 2001. The annual series is
renowned for its variety and draws thousands of visitors to the friendly
confines of the beautiful Green now listed on the National Register of Historic
Places as the Birmingham Green
Historic District. All of the concerts
were held on Tuesday nights with the exception of the Olde Derby Day
concerts held on Sunday, June 24 and a special patriotic concert on Sunday
night, July 1. That concert was held on the top of the Municipal Parking
Garage and provided concert goers with a bonus view of the fireworks display
from across the Housatonic River in Shelton.
The commission
would like to thank all of the co-sponsors listed below for making this series
possible.
