New - Regional Transportation Plan for the Valley

What services does the VTD provide?

Transit Services to the Elderly

The VTD has made traveling a pleasurable experience for many of the region's senior citizens. Using vehicles especially designed for comfort and ease of boarding, the VTD provides transit services for:

Services to the General Public

As energy costs continue to rise and fuel availability dwindles, it becomes increasingly important to have an alternative to the private automobile. The VTD operates throughout the Valley region and, therefore, it is possible for Valley residents to travel to many areas within the region without using his/her automobile.

Services to the Disabled

Prior to the VTD, the region's disabled residents had virtually no public transportation services which could effectively respond to individualized travel requirements. By providing specially equipped vehicles and personalized services, the VTD has helped to foster greater opportunities for disabled persons in the region. Also, the VTD has allowed important community agencies, such as the Valley Association of Retarded Children and Adults (VARCA), to concentrate their efforts on conducting meaningful educational and recreational programs rather than providing transportation services for their clients.
