Walks are leisurely and focus on the diversity of bird life, their identification and natural history. Checklists are provided and field guides and binoculars are available on loan. Learn the stories behind the common weeds of yards and gardens and taste some very useful ones. Gardeners from age 6 and older are invited to attend. Even in the heat of the summer, life is busy, particularly in the cool shade and moisture of the forest floor. Invertebrates and amphibians are quietly living their lives underneath rotting logs and small mammals can be found or heard dashing for cover under a rock or log when approached. $3 per person.
