Hotel Clark

The Hotel Clark on Elizabeth Street closed on the last day of 1968 after serving several generations following the fiery destruction of the previous hotel on the site, the Bassett House which was destroyed in 1911. The new hotel was named after Charles E. Clark who was a leading citizen of Derby at the time. Sadly, the city of Derby does not have a single hotel today though there are several within a ten mile radius. Our thanks to the Derby Historical Society for the picture and story.
