Derby Cultural Commission seeking oldest living Derby High Graduate.

The Cultural Commission found many senior citizens who might have qualified as Derby's oldest living Derby High Graduate as part of the Olde Derby Day Grand Reunion celebration on June 24 & 25. Attached is a photo of the DHS class of 1928 with names identified by Harold B. Yudkin, a Derby resident and graduate of that class. Mr. Yudkin graduated from Derby High at age 15. However, Myron Horbal of Ansonia topped Mr. Yudkin by appearing at the Reunion as a member of the class of 1927.  Click here to see a picture. Though Mr. Horbal was the oldest graduate to attend the reunion, other graduates dating back to at least the class of 1924 were identified as a result of the search.

The oldest graduates were recognized at Derby Day with a "Decades Party" held at the Senior Center.

Thanks to Mr. Harold Yudkin and the 1928 Derby High Outlook Yearbook at the Derby Public Library, all of the Derby High School Graduates in the Class of 1928 photograph have been identified.
