The Cultural Commission was established by city ordinance in 1996. The commission consists of seven people, each holding a five-year term. The purpose of the commission is to encourage and to promote cultural enrichment and diversity within the community. The committee is currently being reorganize. Watch for information about members soon.

2007 All Class Reunion - September 1, 2007

The Annual Derby All-Decades Class Reunion will once again be held Labor Day weekend on Saturday, September 1. The concept was to meet at an establishment and possibly move to and from to hopefully create a flow of activity downtown with a chance to see different places with the knowledge that the chance of meeting someone you know from your “era” would be greater because of the tradition of holding the event on the same holiday weekend. Although many classes still hold a formal reunion every five years, this event is a way to get all classes to celebrate a reunion every year in between.
