2012 Race Netted Over $11,000 for Club

Jeanne Connors from Greco & Haines helped Hull Race Committee members Jack Walsh, Glenn Gaetano and Tom Wilson present a check for $11,000 to Shaye Roscoe, Director of the Boys & Girls Club. The check represents the net proceeds from the 11th Annual Commodore Hull Thanksgiving Day 5K Road Race. Total donations given to the Club are now well over $100,000 since the race first started. Roads Will Be Closed During Race

The Commodore Hull Race Committee is pleased to announce that Greco & Haines is back again as the main sponsor for this year's race. They were the very first sponsor, and they have been our top sponsor every year since. They are well known for the quality of their service, and we value their ongoing partnership. Visit them on line for all your water quality needs.

The Valley Community Foundation is the second major sponsor announced for this year's race, joining the main sponsor, Greco & Haines, atop the sponsorship list. This is the fourth year that the Foundation is with us, and their sponsorship is used to subsidize reduced registration fees for students and free registration for those 70 year of age and older. Click here to learn more about the work of the Valley Community Foundation.   Watch for more news about all our sponsors in the days ahead. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, send us an e-mail at hullrace@comcast.net, and we'll have someone contact you with all the options.

Other News for 2012:

Derby/Shelton Rotary Pavilion

The Race Committee is very pleased that the Derby/Shelton Rotary Pavilion along the Shelton Riverwalk has now been completed and will be in use in place of the portable food tent that has been used in the past. The new pavilion was built as a joint project of the Derby/Shelton Rotary Club and the City of Shelton and will be officially dedicated in September. In the past, the committee has used tents, but the new facility is much larger and represents a significant improvement for the food tent and post-race events. The Farmers Market which is directly across the street will continue to be used for registration.

Fast Track Timing Is Back

We are pleased to announce that FastTrackTiming will be back as timers for the race again this year. Once again, we will be using the chip timing to make it much easier for everyone. Last year the system worked so well that we had the full results posted on our website before many people arrived home.
