Race Field Expanded to 750

Fast Track Timing

At a very special kickoff for the 2013 Commodore Hull Thanksgiving Day 5K Road Race, the Race Committee announced that the field is being expanded to 750 entrants and that Fast Track Timing will be back to time the race. In making the announcement, committee members said that they have been very cautious in expanding the number of runners to ensure that every runner has the best possible experience. They noted that back in 2002 they were hoping for 200 runners, but had over 300. Ever since then, they have increased the number slowly to make sure that the quality of the race is not diminished.

Two things that have made the expansion possible are the building of the pavilion by the City of Shelton and the Derby-Shelton Rotary Club which accommodates more runners than the tents used earlier, and the use of FastTrack Timing to handle the timing. Their work has been excellent and the use of their bib system has made the finish line more efficient for runners and volunteers.
