Many Sponsors Are Also Runners - and Competitors!

Our sponsors make the race possible, but did you know that many of them also actually run in the race? We included an article in the latest e-newsletter, but we discovered that we missed several, so here's an update:

We've been checking our lists, and a quick look tells us that AJ Grasso of Prestige Builders will be running with his daughters, Marissa and Samantha. Janet Volpert of Warner's Hair Design has been a regular down through the years. John, Chirs and Lauren Pawloski will be representing Fairfield County Custom Homes. Shawn Splan and his partner Jim Tyma will be running, and Sean will have both his father, John, and his son, Keving running with them!

Tyler Haywood, son of Brett and Michelle Haywood of Adzima & Riverview Funeral Homes will be running his first ever 5K road race. He'll be running right past the water station in front of Adzima's Funer Home in Derby!

The Faenza family will continue their running tradition with dad Jeff and sons Andrew and Matt. Viking Development will counter with with the Wells family - Sky, Amy and Josh. And Paul Fitzgerald of Coca-Cola will be running with his daughter Maggie.

Blanchette's Sporting goods will be represented by Kyle Vassalo and Chris Kalesavich, and we're told that owner Ray Blancette has promised Kyle a day off if he finishes ahead of all the other sponsors in the race!

Bertucci's is going to be represented by Nick Lauretti. If the name sounds familiar, he is the son of Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti who has run in every one of the races and will also be running this year. Since the City of Shelton is one of our sponsors, that means that both father and son will be in direct competition twice in this race! And the city of Shelton will also have veteran runner Art Rodia running under their banner as well.
