Town Clerk Reports Record Number of Absentee Ballots

Derby Town Clerk Marc Garofalo reports the following as of October 3:

I write to inform you that this office processed and mailed nearly 1300 Absentee Ballots for the November 3, 2020 Election.  Yesterday was the first day that they could be issued and we are one month away from the Election today.

As a reference point, the most Absentee Ballots issued in Derby in the last few decades was just over 300 in 2016.

I have attached a summary of ballots issued by party for your review.

Additionally, we have seen a surge in voter registration and the current list of active registered voters in Derby is at almost 6900.

As a reminder, voters may vote in person or by Absentee Ballot on November 3, 2020.  Every registered voters was sent an application for Absentee Ballot.

Here is a link for the Application for Absentee Ballot for the November 3, 2020 election is you or anyone else needs it.  It needs to be completed and the hard copy either mailed or brought directly to City Hall at the address below.

Thanks especially to Assistant Town Clerks Angela Fenton and Stacy Casini as well as Registrars of Voters Louise Pitney and Michael Rabovsky and our dedicated Election Helpers for a smooth and efficient process.

Have a great weekend.
