DPW Improves Recreation Facilities

And now a new bridge as well - Valley Indy story

Thanks to Derby's Public Works Department, Witek Park and the Derby Greenway have received some significant improvements this summer.

At Witek Park, DPW constructed a new parking lot at the entrance to the park providing a convenient place for park users to access the park and its trail system. (Click pictures for larger views.)

The work on the Derby Greenway involved the removal of choking, invasive plants that have blocked the view of the Naugatuck River on O'Sullivan's Island since the Greenway was first built. The plants were dug out including their roots, and grass has been planted giving the area a much more open look. Click here for more pictures of the work on the Greenway.
